Dowler Award recipient. Each year, the Lower School honors a member of the Greensboro Day School community with the Carla D. Dowler Award. This award was established to honor someone who touches Lower School students’ lives and fits the following criteria: values kindness and sensitivity to others; reflects a determination to succeed; exemplifies a love for learning; and embodies an abiding respect for teaching and being with children. The Edward G. Dickinson Award for Environmental Leadership is given annually to faculty, students, board members, groups or staff within our community who exhibit extraordinary environmental leadership. The award is named after the first recipient, Middle School Director Ed Dickinson. The 4th grade was presented the Dickinson Award.
