This award is presented annually to an Upper School student who best exemplifies the honor, personal integrity, responsible citizenship, and service to the community as articulated in the Greensboro Day School mission statement. This award was established in honor of Greensboro Day School’s 4th headmaster and is presented annually at Graduation to the faculty member who exemplifies the highest standards of teaching and professionalism. Congratulations to Mr. Kim Burroughs, Upper School Ceramics teacher who was named the 2017 Hendrix Award recipient. In his nominations, Mr. Burroughs was described as a master professional in every way, gifted and dedicated teacher, scholar and coach at the highest levels, joyful in teaching and with kids, incredible patience with students and with colleagues, and a valuable coach, teacher, and mentor. During the 2017 Graduation ceremony on Friday, June 9, the Greensboro Day School Founders’ Award was presented. This award is given to a member of the graduating class who best exemplifies the characteristics of scholarship, sportsmanship, and leadership implicit in the founding of Greensboro Day School. Congratulations to John Ball, the 2017 Founders’ Award recipient.
